Air pollution encompasses both natural and man-made pollutants like exhaust gases such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) and ozone from traffic. More recent sources of air pollution include the boom in warehouse construction as well as the the rise of e-cigarettes and vaping. Exposure to air pollution, whether indoors or outdoors, is associated with health issues such as asthma, lung, brain and heart disease, and even premature death.
